Final Fantasy VII Remake: 10 Huge Things That Could Go Terribly Wrong
8. The Voice Cast
Final Fantasy VII came out at a time when voice acting was still in its relative infancy. Sure, there were a few games that featured spoken dialogue in cutscenes, but none tried to bring the volume of text that Final Fantasy VII contained to life. It simply wasn't feasible. With the remake it's a certainty voice acting is going to be included, as the modern gamer is far less likely to read text as players did in days past. However, Square Enix need to be very conscious of the fact that they need to do a good job in selecting the voice cast. After all, players have had about 18 years to define each character's voice in their own heads, so satisfying as many of them as possible is a lofty goal. First on the list should be bringing Mr T. in to voice Barrett... maybe.
