7. Tactics Are More Than "Attack"

For fans of the Handheld version of the game, the tactics option is stripped down massively: you can change approach in general terms and you can set your team up with different philosophies but the options for strategies are parred down considerably. That doesn't mean you can get away with taking such a shallow approach to tactics in the main game. Footballers are designed to play in roles, as well as positions, and adapting those to an overall tactical set up isn't as simple as saying "this guy is talented, I will win with him". Working on exactly what each player does, from how they distribute the ball to where they move and when they don't. Everything is important, and expecting players simply to know what to do without guidance, or trusting default settings is a good way not to manage.
