Football Manager 2018: 20 Wonderkids You Will Need To Sign

9. Jairo Riedewald

A "must sign" in Football Manager 2017, Jairo Riedewald will likely be the same again this year. Versatility is key when it comes to the Ajax man. He had the physicality required to play as an old-fashioned centre-back in 17, but his high mental stats made him even more effectively as a ball-playing defender, and he was also capable of filling-in at left-back and defensive midfield when necessary.

Ajax will likely want a lot of money for Riedewald, who should come with incredible potential again this year. Defenders with such excellent technique are very tricky to find, however, and if he's not world class at the start of the game, Riedewald will become one of the best in the game after a few seasons.
