It’s one thing to be able to take control of near-enough any team within the global football pyramid, but Football Manager has yet to open up on the exact position you can take up at a club. Plain and simple, players take on the role of, well, of a football manager.

However, some gamers have long demanded that they be afforded the opportunity to start their managerial career even lower down the totem pole. As in, cut their teeth as a youth team coach or an assistant manager. From there, there would be an even greater sense of achievement to a player’s journey as they progress from the ranks of youth coach or assistant manager to becoming a full-blown manager in their own right.

This wouldn’t replace the standard option of simply taking over as the manager of a club, yet it would be an added option designed for those gamers who like to add even more grind to their FM career.
