Football Manager 2022: 10 Centre-Backs You Must Sign

4. Morato

Football Manger 2022 Josko Gvardiol
SEGA

Club: Benfica

Nationality: Brazilian

Price: £14 million

Morato is very much one of those players who your scouts will implore you to make a priority signing, regardless of the fee involved.

In terms of that fee, you should be able to pick up this Brazilian centre-half for £14 million so long as you don't try to undercut Benfica too much. If you opt to try and haggle with the Portuguese giants, they'll likely turn around and demand a fee closer to £20 million and with a whole bunch of add-ons attached.

At 6'3" and with a starting stat of 16 for jumping, Morato is a dominant defender who is extremely useful in either box. With no weak points in his defensive game, this left-footer is someone who flourishes as soon as he even gets a sniff of first team football - to the point that the 20-year-old can find himself in amongst the senior Brazil squad by the end of your first season if he's playing enough club football.

With his positioning, strength and composure, Morato is also a player who you can convert into a great holding midfielder too.
