Club: Inter Milan

Nationality: Italian

Price: £11 million

While the habit on all FM games is usually to look for those wonderkids and promising youngsters, there's a lot to be said on FM22 about bringing in a few older heads to help solidify your side.

In terms of experienced central midfield players with bite and energy, few can match Inter Milan's Roberto Gagliardini. A product of Atalanta's youth system, this Italy international will set you back £11 million or so upon starting a new FM22 save. However, if you can hold out until the end of the first season, Galgiardini can be picked up for the significantly lower price of around £4.5 million due to a lack of game time at Inter.

To pick up an international ball-winning midfielder with starting stats of 15 or more for all of teamwork, stamina, strength, work rate, concentration, bravery, anticipation, natural fitness, determination, balance and jumping reach... for just £4.5 million? That represents an absolute steal.

Being honest, though, that initial price tag of £11 million is still great value for money when it comes to Gagliardini.
