Football Manager 2022: 10 Signings You Must Make Every Time
3. Mikkel Damsgaard
Referred to as "a little Johan Cruyff" by one pundit at this summer's Euros, it is something of a surprise to see the technically gifted midfielder not make a move in the last window. Much like Alexander Isak, he is at a quality side in Sampdoria, but seems destined to take the final step to an elite side in the next couple of years.
Aged just 21 and able to play in any role ahead of defensive midfield, including even as a False Nine, he could with the guidance from the right virtual manager, grow to be one of the world's best players.
FM was always way ahead of the curve in terms of the great talent to come out of Denmark, having Christian Eriksen reach an elite level from a young age, even when some observers were sceptical about his ability to transition to a top European league, and we expect Damsgaard will continue to get the same treatment.
Players could also look at his compatriot Kasper Dolberg, who fulfils a similar profile and finally looks to be showing the kind of quality that saw FM rate him as a future world beater in editons gone by.
