Club: River Plate

Nationality: Argentinian

Club: £3.5 million

Recent weeks and months have seen River Plate's Julián Álvarez the subject of reported interest from, amongst others, Manchester United. At 21 years of age, this Argentinian already has two Copa Libertadores and five international caps to his name.

By the time FM22 starts, Alvarez doesn't quite have those five caps, but he does have two appearances for the senior Argentina side by that point. And ridiculously, he can be snapped up for £3.5 million.

Given his status as a full international, it should go without saying that Alvarez isn't one of those 21-year-olds who you buy and then loan out to develop. Instead, this attacker can go right into first team duty for pretty much any team on the planet.

Ideally, Alvarez is best utilised as an advanced forward who will bag you goals, goals and more goals, but he's one of those players who can also be used as an inverted winger or inside forward on either side of the pitch. As such, you can rotate him into one of those wide spots if you happen across some new superstar striker down the line. In fact, Alvarez's penchant for a long-rang screamer means he brings plenty to the table if cutting in from out wide.
