Football Manager 2022 Review: 8 Ups And 2 Downs

1. The Touch Situation

When discussing how the pandemic has impacted Football Manager 2022, it's impossible not to look at Football Manager Touch. Or, to be more specific, the lack of Football Manager Touch.

FM Touch 2022 is indeed available for those whose FM preference is the streamlined Touch version of the game, but unfortunately Touch will only be released on the Nintendo Switch this year.

To their credit, Sports Interactive let gamers know about this prior to FM22's release, yet it's still a major blow for those who like to play Football Manager Touch on PC or mobile. There will be a new streamlined version of FM made available to play on the go, but the familiar fan favourite Touch will be a Switch exclusive.

The reason that Touch isn't getting as much attention from SI as usual is simply down to resources. With the working restrictions in place throughout the pandemic, SI had to make the tough decision to cut back on Touch in order to best develop the main Football Manager 2022 game.

While SI's hand was forced, this all still sucks for those non-Switch owners who are used to playing FM Touch.
