For Honor: 10 Gameplay Features Ubisoft Didn't Tell You About
3. Individual Hero Progression
While the various heroes might be part of a shared faction –
Knights, Vikings and Samurai – levelling is locked to the
individual warrior. This means players can't expect to be able to
focus all their energy on say, The Raider, and then be able to switch
to The Berserker and still be at the same level.
This makes sense as so much of the levelling is focused on the equipment the warriors carry – which is individual to each warrior – rather than just stat increase. The powerful armour and weapons you can unlock for one warrior does not translate as being useable by another – therefore, on switching to a new hero, you'll begin a fresh run of levelling.
This will prove a popular decision by Ubisoft, as not only will it encourage players to try out different classes of warrior and seek to maximise their levels, but, importantly, it will encourage players to try out all the different classes early on - the end result making for some very mixed and balanced battlegrounds in the coming weeks and months.
