Game Publishers Of 2019: 6 Biggest Winners & 6 Biggest Losers

4. Loser: EA

Anthem game
Bioware

While it might seem an easy target at this point, EA more than earned their fair share of disdain in 2019.

Their two most hyped releases, Anthem and Battlefield V: Firestorm, released to average reviews, poor sales and were quickly (and rightfully) forgotten.

These are sad times when a giant publisher has taken incredibly distinct studios like Dice and Bioware and crushed them into generic product mills. It's also very likely Bioware will go the way of Visceral Games in the next years due to this epic bomb.

There was a glimmer of hope though via Respawn Entertainment, who dropped both Apex Legend and Jedi: Fallen Order. The former came out of nowhere as a worthy rival to Fortnite in the multiplayer scene, and the latter was the Star Wars game we've been waiting a decade for.

Fingers crossed EA gives us more stuff like that next year.
