Gran Turismo 7: 7 Things Fans Want To See
1. A Bigger And More Varied Car List
Gran Turismo 2 has attained legendary status for having perhaps the greatest car lineup in the history of racing games. GT4 had more cars, but too many similar models. Having dozens of MX-5's wasn't quite the niche Polyphony thought they were catering to.
GT 5 and 6 were plagued by atrocious "standard models". It was something that was bad enough to break the game's immersion in some cases. And GT Sport just didn't have the numbers.
Fans are dreaming of a mix that includes the newest models, iconic classic cars, Japanese oddballs, and once off special vehicles such as the Renault Espace F1 and Ford Transit Super Vans. Many recent titles nailed their car lists, including everything from 60's Formula 1 cars, to the downright insane IMSA GTP's.
With many past licensing issues now resolved (we're looking at you EA), and GT's reputation, Kaz and his team has access to almost any car in the world. This means that there really aren't any excuses why not to include some of the most wanted cars.
Now that "Premium" and "Standard" cars are no more, it is truly exciting to wonder how the cars in GT 7 will look. We all know that when they do it right, nobody can make it look better than Polyphony.
Here's to hoping that they bring back some of the GT legends and add some future classics to the mix.
