4. GTA V Infuriates Residents Of Hawick

According to the
Telegraph, GTA V caused something of a furor with residents of Scottish border-town Hawick. Residents of the town discovered a 'druggie hipster suburb in the game has also been named Hawick, and were not amused. Rockstar have deep Scottish roots and have one of their headquarters based only 40 miles away from Hawick in Edinburgh, and have been notorious for slipping tongue-in-cheek Scottish references into their games in the past. In the betting shops of GTA San Andreas, for instance, the names of the horses are Glaswegian jokes. But local Hawick councillor David Paterson blasted the publishers for their apparently derivative reference to the Scottish town, saying:
Its going to destroy the reputation of the town.
