3. Could GTA V Train You To Kill?

The GTA series has been, at various stages, cited in murder trials, debated in the House of Lords and banned in Brazil. Many of its detractors claim the violent scenes found in the game are warping the minds of children and leading to a generation of crazed psychopaths. And
Gamespot recently explored whether or not GTA V trains you to kill. Based on an experiment carried out last year, researchers took 151 participants and divided them up into five groups. Group one played Resident Evil 4 using a standard controller, while group two played the same game but with a gun controller. Groups three and four played a non-violent shooting game with a bulls-eye target, one with a standard controller and one with a gun controller. The fifth group played a non-violent, non-shooting game and were then taken to a shooting range and asked to fire a real gun at a mannequin target. The researchers marked their accuracy and tendency to land headshots, and found the group who played Resident Evil 4 with the gun controller landed 99% more headshots and 33% more hits. So, there you go, violent, shooting games such as GTA V can train you to be a killer. Sort of. But you'd have to have plenty more wrong with you besides an addiction to video games to go down that route.
