GTA V: 5 Ways To Improve Grand Theft Auto Franchise
How Rockstar can make several undermined GTA 4 features work without scrapping them.
Unlike many a GTA fan out there, I actually enjoyed GTA 4. It was an amazing game with a great story, unreal (at the time, anyway) graphics, and most importantly, it thrusted GTA into the new generation of consoles. Many accused the game of being boring, dumbed down and disappointing compared to San Andreas. While they are a different flavour, the seriousness of GTA4's gameplay fit the story and tone perfectly. And who could deny the pleasure of going online, getting into a row of cars with your buddies, switching to first person and driving on busy sidewalks? However, GTA 4 wasn't perfect and did have a few rather grindy issues. Without further ado, here's my ideas on how Rockstar can make these features work without scrapping them. 1. The Phone
While the phone is a great way of supplying information without breaking you out of gameplay, it felt a bit limited, at least to me. I would love to see a smartphone interface with email, the ability to save images and upload them to Rockstar Social Club, and even a few mini games, all wrapped by Rockstar trademark humour. Angry Kittens, anyone? 2. Friends & Dating
While I can't say I enjoyed this feature much either, I can see it being improved upon and developed into something worthwhile. Rather than being limited to predetermined locations to visit, throw activities in as well. Have your girlfriend stay the night at your house, have a dance off with your friend at the night club, go for a romantic walk on the beach. With a city based on the bustling Los Angeles, the possibilities are endless. Also, be able to use the phone's calendar to set dates for outings, not just right now or not at all. What a lovely beach! Now, why can't I lie down in the sand? Click "next" below to read the next entry...
