5. Pokemon
Personal Rating: 7.0/10 Nintendo's Pokemon media franchise, although encompassing almost every aspect of life, from TV to merchandise, revolves mainly around its games. For me, Pokemon will always be a happy childhood memory, but for many it is making a comeback in their adult lives. In a mold not too dissimilar to WoW, Pokemon grew in stature as it developed its fantasy world and the ability to interact with other users. It was a revolutionary concept and certainly the inspiration for many of today's MMORPGs. There are now 15 games spread over the various Pokemon generations as the developers continue to enhance the story. Although the release of a new Pokemon game may not call for a day off work, they are always eagerly anticipated and deserve to be on this list, as they hold so many happy memories for so many gamers out there.
