Personal Rating: 8/10 I never understood the appeal of Portal until I eventually played it. I always thought it was too similar to a science puzzle for kids, but that is far from the case. Yes, the first-person game is based on solving puzzles while controlling the character Chell, but it is far from a school learning aid! It has a dark and humorous story, keeping the player gripped despite being a relatively short game. Portal received a great deal of praise for its unique nature, and Portal 2 quickly became eagerly anticipated. For me, Portal 2 is even better than its predecessor as the developers worked on the minor faults and further accentuated the puzzle-style game-play. It is completely different to anything else out there, and although it may not have resulted in many sick days, the people that
did call in ill would have been much more likely to get away with it than someone calling in sick on GTA release day...
