Multi-Player
Halo 4s multiplayer component is easily the best in the series history to date, making a few Call of Duty-esque changes to things offering up a load-out of perks, for one and generally streamlining the experience for casuals and expert players alike. The mayhem is more pronounced than ever, and the levelling system feels extremely rewarding, particularly because you can pick up XP in brilliant new modes like Spartan Ops also. Black Ops 2 builds on the sublime multiplayer framework that has been built already, and infuses it with enough new material that players wont feel like theyre paying £45 for the same experience all over again. Most prominently, the game has been crowbarred open, so that players can opt to play however they like, whether theyre casual or hardcore. Also, the communal aspect of the game has been ramped up considerably, with CODCasting and live-streaming of your bouts directly to YouTube hopefully making the community seem a lot more apparent in the coming days. Whats more, new zombie modes like Transit and Grief give players even more possibilities. Call of Dutys multiplayer has been so influential over the years, and yet more so than the last few games, Black Ops 2 continues to innovate, thrilling amid its daring new aesthetic, crafting what is probably the best online experience of the bunch, and therefore taking the crown for the better multiplayer of these two games. But that takes little away from Halo 4; its a fab outing in its own right, and youd do well to give both online offerings a go. WINNER: Black Ops 2
