Graphics
Though Halo 4 positively cannot compete with the best looking PC titles, it is unquestionably the most gorgeous, visually stunning game available on the Xbox 360. Staring out at the expansive vistas and exploring the strange alien worlds proves a jaw-dropping experience, while character models are sublime, as are the various vehicles and weapons you cause chaos with. As with the previous games, some up-close textures arent exactly fantastic, but the overall visual thrall makes this largely seem inconsequential. The Call of Duty games, meanwhile, have never been a hallmark of visual sumptuousness; the last game, Modern Warfare 3, looked especially dated, with textures looking low-res at even a medium distance. Were happy to report, then, that Black Ops 2 has a much more stylish and arresting art style; the futuristic look really gives the series the potent kick it needs. Sure, like Halo, theres still some low-res foibles here and there, but by and large, this is the best looking and certainly most visually startling entry into the series. Yet still, we have to give it to Halo; the visual standard is simply larger, more epic, and more robust. Black Ops 2 certainly impresses, but Halo 4s graphical accomplishment is on a whole other level indeed.
WINNER: Halo 4
