Hidden Agenda: 7 Things You Need To Know About Supermassive Games' New IP
3. The Focus Is On Cooperative Gameplay
Hidden Agenda, while it can be played by one person, is ideally supposed to be played with an entire group. In the trailer, certain decisions were decided by each player voting by using the PlayLink app. Other decisions were instead up to a specific, possibly random person.
Apparently, one of the driving forces to create Hidden Agenda was due to how many gamers played Until Dawn: sitting in a room together, shouting out which decision that they think should be made. Hidden Agenda allows each person to actually have a voice.
The idea of democratic vs. singularly made decisions will be an intriguing mechanic, pitting people that think differently against each other. The aforementioned "save your partner or save the hostage" is going to divide a room.
Although not specifically stated, there will probably be some controller gameplay as well. Unless Hidden Agenda ends up just being one long interactive cut scene (let's hope not, although it doesn't look like it), exploring environments and hunting down clues will likely play a part.
Given that the game is supposed to be played with a group of people, it probably won't be a long experience. Instead, expect something that can be completed in or two sittings. With the large amount of decision making, however, there's bound to be some serious replayability.
