Hitman 6: 10 Essential Things It Must Fix From Absolution
2. There's A Whole World Out There
One of the most rewarding aspects of the Hitman series has always been the variety of locations you were given to explore and boy did ol' cueball get around; with scenery spanning rustic Italian villas, the snow-swept Russian landscape of Saint Petersburg, and the stifling crowds of New Orleans during Mardi Gras season. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. With Hitman: Absolution the focus was pared down to concentrate mostly on the USA and while the graphics still held up extremely well, the overall sameness of the environments ultimately resulted in much less diverse visuals. Gone were the crumbling Japanese castles of Hitman 2, replaced with cramped alleyways, dilapidated hotels, and podunk towns. It's unfortunate that so many of the environments featured in a Hitman game could be described with phrases like 'dingy corridors' and 'decrepit hallways'. Fortunately, IO Interactive have promised a "globetrotting Agent 47" with the next chapter, so it seems as if the developers are set on returning the series to it's international roots.
