Horizon Forbidden West: 9 Things We Want To See
1. Memorable side characters
Aloy was absolutely the highlight of Horizon Zero Dawn. A truly original, fleshed out character, she quickly became a staple of the Playstation. The side characters, however, were pretty forgettable.
Aside from her father Figure Rost and antagonist Sylens, it’s pretty difficult to name any other characters from the original. Truly memorable characters can truly make or break a game - just look at Mass Effect. That game was sprawling with truly memorable companions and villains.
Horizon is Aloy’s story, first and foremost, but that doesn’t mean the same love and care can’t be put into the side characters. Give us branching side quests, allowing the player to grow attached to these personalities and become more invested in their plight. If there is something that games have proven time and time again, fully thought-out side characters and quests truly do add to a brilliant game.
Which we have no doubt Horizon Forbidden West will be.
