How Capcom Should Remake Resident Evil 4

1. Final Round

Before wrapping up, there are a few minor things that Capcom could shake up that don't require dedicated sections. Think of this as a quick-fire round, if you will.

First, the graveyards you go through a few times. These need to have surprise zombies in them, rising from the earth. Make it happen.

Second, something has to be done about the caves. You go through so many of these during Resi 4, and they're all so bland and grey. Either make them more interesting, or swap them out for something else entirely.

Third, the regenerators need to be scary. They were terrifying in the original, but after so many appearances since, they've lost a bit of their lustre. Make them a surprise to be feared.

Finally, and speaking of surprises, change the placement of the chainsaw guy in the opening. Don't let him be something returning players can anticipate. Subverting when he first pops up could lead to a killer scare.

In a lot of ways, Capcom could easily get away with taking Resident Evil 4 as it is and filtering it through the RE Engine, leaving everything intact and still have a smash hit on their hands.

That said, if they are going to insist on tweaking things, these points wouldn't be a bad place to start. Just please give us the Code Veronica remake we all really want afterwards, okay?
