4. Darkseid

One of the cheapest characters to go up against, chances are you've been decimated by Darkseid's various laser-blasts and projectile launchers, his fairly calm stature belying the speed with which he can close the distance and bring you down.

By far, Darkseid's best stat is strength and as such, you'll need to employ a pure, face-pounding approach when it comes to relentlessly pursuing your opponent. As his stance is entirely leg and kick-based (minus environmental object-grabs), many of his stomps can re-launch foes back into the air, letting you keep them afloat with eye-lasers and dropkicks.

Speaking of eye-lasers, Darkseid's are the only ones in the game that - although they're still travelling in a straight trajectory - leave a complicated, angular path onscreen. You'd be amazed how this somewhat small detail can mess with the majority of players' heads, especially if you factor in his teleporting which in itself, helps force an opponent to try and outthink your approach.
