Injustice 2 Reviews: 9 Critical Reactions You Need To Know

4. Multiverse Mode Provides Excellent Replay Value

"Injustice 2 is packed with learning opportunities in the Multiverse, a mode that benefits from randomly generated battle modifiers and the temptation of gear-based rewards. Not all Multiverse challenges are enjoyable, like the modifier that causes the screen to black out every few seconds. But sometimes you get a satisfying leg-up over the competition, such as the ability to summon an off-screen assist character." - Gamespot
"Multiverse mode is fighting games’ answer to Destiny, giving you the opportunity to level up your fighters, earn and equip gear for them, and use those power gains to take on increasing challenges that change every day." - IGN
"Multiverse is a beautifully designed avenue of play featuring daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, each testing your skills in different ways, all in the hope of unlocking more loot...The events are always changing, but I haven’t seen anything as zany as S.T.A.R. Labs’ goofy side content such as controlling Catwoman’s kitten, Isis. Multiverse is the mode where you can sink the most time, although story mode offers branching paths that demand multiple playthroughs to see everything." - Game Informer

If the allure of a rich story mode and online multiplayer weren't enough to sell you, there's also a Multiverse mode where players can take part in modifier-driven challenge events, ranging from the silly, to the awesome, to the infuriating.

While some have contested that it doesn't quite have the same engrossing hook as the campaign, for the most part Multiverse has been given strong marks for representing a welcome dose of added value in a game already overflowing with top-notch content.
