Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast PS4 Review: Does It Still Hold Up?
There are a lot of systems to come to grips with in Jedi Outcast, from the plethora of weapons available, to the bounty of gadget and vast array of Force power on offer, but it can be hard to decide what to use and even harder to select them. Even though this did release for the Gamecube and Xbox back in 2002, this game has always, and still does feel like a PC title first.
The menus and selections wheels for weapons, items and force powers very quickly stack up and feel all too much for one D-Pad to handle, when something like a keyboard and mouse has always felt ideal. This might be a little too cumbersome for some plays to deal with, especially when duelling the reborn or fighting the Imperial Remnant Stormtroopers.
The biggest oversight though, has to be the fact that there isn’t the option to invert the controls at all - it is as if Aspyr removed this feature as a joke just to see how everyone would react. There was once the option to do so and this really should added back soon, so that section of players can play how they wish.
It should also be noted that the multiplayer component is missing, so if that was what you were looking for here then it’ll be best to wait for Academy - as that is said to have that included.
