Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast PS4 Review: Does It Still Hold Up?

Unlike Jedi Academy, that released a year after Outcast - and will also be hitting PS4/Switch early 2020, this game takes a while to get to some of the fun stuff.

From the outset, padawans can boot Academy and are greeted with a lightsaber in-hand, but Outcast makes you work for it.

It is clear now, that this seems to be one of the game's greatest weaknesses, especially in today's climate. Some of the early levels can start to feel like a slog and let's be honest, the trusty E11 blaster rifle isn’t always the most accurate weapon. You'll have your crosshair lined up for the perfect headshot and nope, you miss - as if it was the role of a dice.

So this is why Stormtroopers can't hit their targets.

When the lightsaber and Force abilities are finally attained however, Outcast changes for the better.

Outcast and Academy are to this day some of the best renditions of how it would be to use the force and wield a lightsaber in a video game. This game is still unmatched there and with the PS4 port, the Force is still strong with this one.
