League of Legends North American LCS Summer Split Analysis: Week 2

8. Velocity eSports (1-6)

Vel Esports Velocity eSports has now lost six matches in a row after winning their first match over Counter Logic Gaming during Super Week. However, this continued the snowball losses for Velocity. On day one, they were steamrolled by TSM Snapdragon, while on day two, they put up a good fight against Team Coast. Velocity eSports must improve quick because they are quickly falling behind the rest of the teams. This team gets ruined by bad mistakes, and some of the mistakes, such as going for Baron with Team Coast ready to initiate, is a rookie and costly move to say the least. Velocity has a long way to go before they can compete with the other teams. Top lane player Cris put up a good fight against ZionSpartan in their loss to Team Coast with Zed (4/4/0) but proved completely ineffective against TSM Snapdragon's Dyrus on day one with Vladimir (2/10/1). Mid lane player Vilerose must improve his mistake-prone play. He is a good player who can make some pretty "Houdini-like" escapes, but he makes a lot of mistakes in lane and roaming. The same can be said about jungler Nk Inc, whose aggressive jungle play contributed more to their death counter than it did to their kills. AD carry Maplestreet may be the strongest on this squad, but he continues to be ineffective in team fight situations. However, his Varus play could be the best in the tournament with improvement. Support Evaniskus is a solid support, which keeps bottom lane well intact. However, they do suffer from a lot of ganks from other lanes as well.
