Legend Of Zelda - Ranking Every Link From Worst To Best

7. Skyward Sword

With a design based on impressionist paintings, Link, and the entire world of Skyward Sword for that matter, has never looked more like a painting come to life. And with a live orchestra providing the music to accompany this adventure, playing Link in this manner really feels like you’re taking part of a legend depicted on a tapestry or painting of a castle you might have seen, while has always been one of the great appeals of Zelda games from the start.

While some detractors will bring up how annoying his companion Fi is, or his arguably shoddy motion controls, there's no denying that the presentation, and the accompanying journey is a site to behold. And while prior iterations show him and Zelda demonstrating little more than an appreciation and respect for each other, this is the first time they had an established relationship, mostly platonic, but never before has his actions been so driven by ensuring her safety, and we felt every moment all the more for it.
