Life Is Strange: Before The Storm Episode 1 Review - 7 Ups & 2 Downs

Life Is Strange Prequel
Dontnod

One of the biggest strong points of the original Life Is Strange is the exceptional, often thematic soundtrack it featured. This is one of those aspects it's best to stay the course with and build upon, which is exactly what Before the Storm did. We're one episode in and the music is already great.

You get some cool songs that perfectly capture the mood of the scenes they accompany, in addition to just being a joy to listen to. For instance, the concert at the beginning is high energy and definitely sets the tone for this new story.

Plus, even if the thrash rock-esque vibe the concert gives off isn't your cup of tea, there's plenty of variety down the road and you're almost guaranteed to hear at least one track that strikes a chord with you. Even the school security guard's band's demo tape he plays for Chloe isn't half bad.

Also, if you have Mixtape Mode, which came with the special edition, it's easier than ever to go back and listen to your favorites.
