Madden 23 Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See

2. Superstar Mode Returns

Madden 23
EA Sports

This would be more like it.

Should anybody expect the exact same Superstar Mode that launched in Madden '06? No, absolutely not. EA would even argue that 'Face Of The Franchise' in 22 was a step back towards Superstar. They're not 100% off the mark, but FOTF ended up being a bland Franchise template eventually anyway, which felt lazy.

Stepping into the shoes of a young QB like Justin Fields and developing his career both on and off the field would be fun. Fields is the ideal candidate for a mode like Superstar. He's 22 years old, has skills and is currently QB 1 for a struggling Chicago Bears team that's headhunting a new head coach.

As Fields, gamers would be tasked with delivering during games and juggling press interviews about a wide range of topics. Then, they'd have to help the new coach bed into Chicago and get the Bears back on top of the NFC North.

Y'know, just throwing out examples of things EA could do here.
