Madden 23 Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See
3. Face Of The Franchise Disappears
EA's on-rails single-player mode is more akin to a tutorial for some of Madden's mechanics than a fully-fleshed out thrill ride. In other words, it's hollow and more predictable than a Mahomes deep ball on a short 3rd and 2 from Kansas City's own 30 yard line.
Having the option to play on the defensive side of the ball was nice last time, but the cheesy sports movie scripting and total lack of individuality hurt 'Face Of The Franchise' badly. It's time to sack this one, EA. These straight-to-Netflix narratives are dreadfully contrived and not fun to plough through.
Would anybody really miss FOTF if it was gone?
Some Madden players out there probably enjoy it, but surely even those 'glass is half full' types can see that this could be so much more. There's no point in dialogue wheels or choices if those choices don't have any impact on where the story ends up.
