Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: 10 Things It Must Include

7. Locations Aplenty

The aforementioned realm-trotting story of Marvel Ultimate Alliance left players with a large amount of locations to hop to. The Marvel Universe's most famous iconography was laid bare for all to see, and none were as impressive as Raven's interpretation of Asgard - more specifically, the Bifrost Bridge.

Sure, ten years of gaming has meant that Ultimate Alliance's visual prowess is nowhere near as convincing as it once was, but it's not difficult to appreciate the level of detail that went into replicating Marvel's most fantastical locales. Indeed, even its sequel proved adept at that, with Vicarious Vision's rendition of Wakanda illuminating King T'Challa's homeland for the first time in the medium.

While that entry may not have packed on the locations as thick or as fast as its predecessor, there was still enough visual eye candy and nerdy tidbits to keep geeks sated in their faction of choice.

Where then, I hear you ask, could a third entry possibly venture? After all, we've already taken trips to Atlantis, Hell and Latveria. And as far as the Marvel Universe goes, it's hard to deny that most of the action takes place in NYC. Still, that doesn't mean a third game should avoid these settings altogether; it's just that, well, if they are to be tackled again, they need to be kept fresh.

Simply recycling old environments just isn't going to cut it.
