Mass Effect: 15 Easter Eggs, Secrets & References You Totally Missed

7. Keeping A Prejek Paddlefish Alive Has Its Perks

Not content with having you look for and recapture your hamster from Mass Effect 2, Bioware also gives you the option to reclaim your fish from the second game. Chances are most of us didn't actually bother looking after the fish, only stopping by the cabin often enough to clean out the dead ones. If, however, you did feed them and they lived, you'll have the chance to get them back. You'll also need to ensure Kelly Chambers survived ME2's Suicide Mission and have built a rapport with her so she agrees to look after them, though. Doing so will allow you to encounter her again during ME2, and she will return to the Normandy complete with your collection of scaly-survivors from the second game. At this point, you should try to keep a Prejek Paddlefish alive for your imported playthrough until the very end. Once done, import your character again for new game plus and you'll be given a unique Intel Bonus in Liara's quarters that increased your weapon or power damage by 10%. Seems like a lot of hassle just for a boost, but you should always take care of this particular Paddlefish, apparently.
