Mass Effect 2: 10 Reasons Why It's The Best Sci-Fi Game Of All Time

1. The Ending That'll Give You Goosebumps EVERY TIME

Out of all the final missions/levels in gaming, Mass Effect 2's Suicide Mission remains the cream of the crop. A mission that's not only epic in its own right, but a final battle where all the decisions you've made throughout the game are taken into account and will succeed/fail strictly based on your choices.

Who will live to tell the tale of the Normandy's venture through the Omega 4 Relay? Who will lose their life because SOMEONE failed to do their loyalty mission, or forgot to upgrade the ship's weaponry?

The entire campaign has built up to this point, and it does NOT disappoint. Then, once the mission is complete, the music swells as you and your crew members, now forever bonded, look out to the great unknown, knowing full well that the one true enemy is on the horizon, ready to attack.

It's impossible not to be incredibly hyped by Mass Effect 2's ending. While its sequel gets massive flak for its ending, ME2 sticks the landing with gusto, making you want to scroll through the end credits and hit 'New Game' immediately. Mass Effect 2 is the Empire Strikes Back of sci-fi games and continues to stand the test of time because it has no weak point. It begins on an incredible note and finishes on an even higher one.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go replay this game for the 20th time.
