Mass Effect Andromeda: 10 Impressions From The First 10 Hours

4. Auto-Cover Will Be Controversial

Here's where that "mostly" caveat about the combat comes into play. Some players are going to justifiably be a little miffed by the game's cover system, which has the player go into cover mode whenever they get near an appropriate object.

While in theory this can be better than, say, snapping to cover, the unfortunate result here is that players may often find themselves fiddling around trying to get behind objects that cannot be used as cover. You can easily waste precious seconds sorting out your cover while the enemy fires wildly at you, all the more annoying as there's still no damn crouch button.

Some will be fine with it and others will absolutely loathe it, but it's definitely the most awkward element of an otherwise fine suite of combat systems.
