Sometimes there'll be crafting items you just can't get from a vendor or alien creature, and it's here where destroying old weapons and armour parts comes in.

No doubt after a few missions or a spate of exploration you'll end up with some duplicates. Instead of selling them, jump into your inventory and hit Square/X to break them down into base components, which can then be used to craft all sorts of other things.

Alongside this, make sure you're visiting the AVP Terminal regularly. Again, it's part of the rush of systems Andromeda throws your way in the opening few hours and is therefore easy to miss, but your AVP (Andromeda Viability Points) come from completing side objectives and terraforming planets for human life, and can then be fed into this terminal to unlock everything from additional Consumable slots in-game, to regular deliveries of crafting components.

Even if you don't have any points to spend, hop into the Terminal and hit Square/X - chances are you'll have some deliveries from previous parts of the Nexus you've unlocked to open up.

Combine broken down weapons with AVP bonuses to keep a steady stream of parts coming in, especially if you'd rather focus on the story than exploration.
