Mass Effect Andromeda: 9 Exciting New Rumours You Need To Know
8. Beta/Demo Planned?
After the release of the Andromeda Initiative teaser came this post on Bioware's site that showed up after viewers clicked on the link that said "Join The Andromeda Initiative." What's most eye-catching about the words is the phrasing of "special training opportunities", as it certainly implies more than just early sneak peeks and access to gameplay videos, right?
Critical mission information IS likely the guaranteed earlier access to gameplay trailers, but "training opportunities" would certainly indicate that there may be an open beta or demo on the horizon for those who join up. Regardless of whether it would be a closed beta that inevitably becomes open or a simple demo, it'd be a win-win situation as players would be able to try out the game for themselves AND potentially bring in more potential buyers for those who may not have been previously interested.
Likelihood of being true: 7/10. It isn't exactly clear whether Bioware IS promising early opportunities to play the game or if they're just having fun with their descriptions of released gameplay videos. It certainly wouldn't be the first time Mass Effect had a beta (Mass Effect 3) and it shouldn't be the last. This is an easy decision where there's more to gain than lose on both the players' side and Bioware's.
