5. Set Pieces

If there's one thing the Metal Gear Solid franchise has always gotten right, it has to unquestionably be the set-pieces, and Revengeance, though a very different game, still manages to capture the same intense, visceral spirit. Revengeance will have Raiden frantically scaling buildings, diving to avoid hordes of missiles, and countless other set-pieces simply too good to spoil. The boss fights, my favourite thing about the MGS games, are also a lot of fun if perhaps not as well thought-out as in previous games; the fights are reliant less on learning a trick or weakness in the enemy to kill them, and more about wide open spaces, making for some epic fights that really promote a sense of freedom in how you go about the battle. There's no doubt that these moments, the best in the game, certainly live up to the MGS name.
