12. Naomi Hunter - Hayley Atwell

A key support character with more than a few secrets up her sleeve, whoever gets cast as Naomi has to interface with not only Snake on a regular basis, but Grey Fox too.

Hayley Atwell has already played a support role in Captain America to the titular hero, and if we're replicating MGS 1's route, she'll do the same for the majority of the story. Now, this setup is only to pull the rug away from under you at the last minute once it's revealed Naomi has tried to kill Snake as revenge for him killing Frank Jaegar (her foster brother).

For MGS 4, Naomi once again plays a support role, but one where her alluring good looks and initial confidence belie a sense of vulnerability, as she's not only working undercover against Liquid Ocelot, but slowly dying of terminal cancer - a disease held at bay by nanomachines that eventually get shut down.

There's a lot to work with - including a fleeting romance with Otacon, no less - and plenty to give Atwell enough to make her mark.
