Metal Gear Solid Remake: 10 Things That Must Remain Untouched
9. Snake Vs Liquid
Ah, sibling rivalries, you just can't beat them, especially when the two siblings are genetic clones of the greatest soldier of all time. As the younger sibling, Liquid Snake grew up believing himself to be the inferior clone with Solid Snake inheriting Big Boss' superior genes. This created a strong resentment within Liquid; a resentment that forms the underlying narrative to Metal Gear Solid as a series. Interestingly, as well as psychically appearing to Snake a few times throughout the game, Liquid also poses as Snake's mentor Master Miller and communicates with him via the Codec, planting seeds of doubt within the agent's head. All of this makes the fight against Liquid a highly anticipated one and when it arrives, it's well worth the wait. With Metal Gear RAY defeated, Snake and Liquid battle in hand-to-hand combat on top of the nuclear warhead carrying machine's corpse. It's dramatic, it's tense and it's fairly challenging; it's a suitable climax to the game. The escape via the snowmobile that follows this? Yeah, you can change that all you want. Liquid's fight and the events leading up to it? Leave it alone please.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
