6. The Flaming Man Is Volgin
One of the more curious sights in the trailer is that of a flaming man in the middle of the hospital corridor as Big Boss and Ishmael try to escape. The body type and intimidating stature of the figure have caused many to suspect that the character is indeed Volgin from MGS3. Has he managed to survive his presumed demise at the end of that game, or nearly two decades later, does he continue to haunt Big Boss' mind? A "plausible" explanation is that Psycho Mantis has gotten into Big Boss' head and is messing around with him, causing his most traumatic memories from battle to interfere with his current mode of thought. There's the hope that alongside Volgin, we might see other downed enemies from MGS3 making an appearance to haunt him.
