Although there are a smorgasbord of shocking moments in Mortal Kombat 1, nobody was rendered more speechless than Switch-owners when they first booted up the game. Because Nintendo's version of MK11 was a little janky and had downgraded graphics, the same was expected for the follow-up.

But nobody thought it would be THIS bad! Without an ounce of exaggeration, this port looks like a PS2 game. Even though all the negative reviews highlight the laughable visuals, that's just the tip of a gigantic iceberg.

Glitches occur in nearly every match. Sound effects are rarely in sync. Loading is excruciating. Music regularly cuts out. The frame-rate is so erratic, it feels like the game can crash at any moment (which it often does).

However, the most bewildering thing is the fact the developers looked at the finished product and saw no reason to delay it. They observed game-crashing bugs and insulting graphics, and said, "Yup, have it shipped out immediately." They were so confident with this travesty, they allowed Switch-owners to play MK1 a week early if they purchased the Premium Edition!

Unless this port receives a patch that remedies these issues, an army of justifiably angry gamers could be getting their money back.
