After Kitana became Outworld's Emperor and embraced her love for Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 11, it felt like the Edenian princess' character arc had been fully explored.

But in the revised timeline, Kitana's motivation has been slightly inverted, seeing Earthrealm as a threat, and doing all she can to protect her sister, Mileena.

However, one thing that hasn't changed is the way Kitana plays. In this new reality, the sovereign kombatant still comes at her opponents with gravity-defying kicks and her razor-sharp fans. Her singular attacks are weak, but this is a small compromise, since her kombos are child's play to pull off.

By creating a vortex below her competitor, she can perform a regular or air kombo, which can be extended further with her fan blades. Using the right Kameo while performing this move, Kitana's rival can be airborne for most of the match.
