One of the only "new-age" characters to feel as though they were birthed from that initial 90s hotstreak, D'Vorah is even more a disgusting, bug-spewing demon this time.

Featuring a fatality that pays direct tribute to John Carpenter by transforming her opponent into another life form (complete with bug-head and arms), playing D'Vorah allows for an incredibly multifaceted approach. You've got her various summon-able insects and launchers that keep foes at bay, constantly extended ovipositors to jab and grab those up close - even the ability to take flight with new aerial moves.

On the lore side, we find out her Kytinn species' hive has been living underneath Shang Tsung's island the whole time too - elegantly slotting her into the overall canon in a very natural way.
