Mortal Kombat 11: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
16. Raiden
The Thunder God himself, playing as Raiden always comes with various small modifiers per game to keep him interesting.
In MK X, it was the ability to hold any button to extend a combo chain with additional electrocution, and here you've got access to awesome projectile bolts and launchers, alongside electric swords that sprout from his hands, just so he can finally slice foes into tiny cubes of meat with something other than a staff.
Raiden's role in the story is seismic, ending the battle against Kronika by leaving both himself and Liu Kang in a state that could result in an entire franchise reset. The path to get there though? It involves felling entire armies single-handed, and merging with Kang to create an entirely new character.
It's truly epic, fan-pleasing stuff, and I loved every second.
