Sitting out MK X thanks to being turned into a Revenant, Jade now ties into Kotal Kahn's emerging lore by being his longtime lover, and has a moveset punctuated by staff twirls and easy-access combos. You can tell NetherRealm just wanted you to have fun with the character yet again, and it's an approach paid off across all her animations.

In a somewhat cheeky move, Jade's all-new shuriken-type item has the same animation as Batman's batarang swarms from Injustice - though that only serves to help you know when to deploy them. Perfect for extending a combo, interrupting an opponent's and then following up with staff thwacks or accurate slide-kicks, Jade's latest is easily the definitive version.
