Mortal Kombat X: 10 Unannounced Fighters That Could Be Included

5. Frost

The arrogant apprentice of the younger Sub-Zero; Frost won a tournament held my her mentor to find new young warriors to rebuild the Lin Kuei. A Cryomancer liker her Grand Master and his older brother; her abilities rose under his tutelage yet he could not teach her humility. Eventually she betrayed her master in the pursuit of her true goal of taking his place as Grand Master of the Lin Kuei; but upon taking the symbol of leadership, the Dragon Medallion, from him she was consumed by her own powers due to not possessing the strength or discipline to wield the artifact. Believed dead she returned to the Lin Kuei temple for revenge on Sub-Zero only to be bound in ice and locked away by him; she was released by Taven then fought and died with the Forces of Darkness during the battle of Armageddon. Frost made three cameo appearances in Mortal Kombat's 2011's reboot; twice in the story mode (in Cyber Sub-Zero's HUD and in one of Raiden's visions) and, like others on the list, could be seen fighting in the background of The Pit stage. Her inclusion here can be taken as a sign that NetherRealm must have some positive feelings in regard to her; otherwise why use her instead of another character? Twenty-five years has passed between the last installment and MK X; who's to say that Sub-Zero hasn't followed the same path as in the original timeline and become Master of the Lin Kuei in that time and taken on Frost as his apprentice? It gives the developers an interesting story arc to explore if it proves to be the case.
