Few player ratings in any sports game cause as much of a stir as Kobe Bryant's 85 in 2K16. His lowest score in franchise history, many took to social media to ridicule the decision, calling the rating disrespectful and suggesting it to be an insult to his immense legacy. In all the uproar, many may have forgotten that player ratings should rest more on current form rather than historical accolades, and last season Bryant looked to finally be slowing down - even before the injury that kept him out for a good portion of the year. His shots weren't falling with as much regularity, and his otherworldly ability to squeeze good performances out of substandard players seemed to be leaving him at last. Whisper it, but 85 might even be a tad generous.
