My problem with Dwight Howard's rating isn't specifically with the 85 itself. It seems a fair number for one of the most naturally gifted centers of a generation, an undeniable defensive presence and occasionally fearsome rebounder, while also taking into account his tendency to underachieve or lose concentration. However, Dwight's 85 rating puts him clear of stars such as DeAndre Jordan and the young Andre Drummond, far more valuable assets to their respective teams. Many other lower-rated centers appear to be more consistent and motivated than Dwight. The Houston Rockets star may have turned it on in recent Playoff runs, but his regular season game betrays a declining star.
